Polyimide coated double-clad fiber is also a kind of silica double-clad fiber, and its optical performance is the same as ordinary silica double-clad fiber. However, the coating material of this optical fiber is made of polyimide resin, which has excellent temperature resistance, up to 400°C, which is much higher than other coating materials. In order to ensure the temperature resistance of the optical fiber, this kind of optical fiber generally does not use an outer sheath layer.
