The Surface Wave Instrument is a set of 12/24-channel high-resolution and digital equipment. It has functions such as time-sharing sampling, superposition, filtering, signal enhancement, noise suppression, and real-time on-site display of the measured waveform. Based on the VR-f curve (i.e., the dispersion curve) or the VR-λR curve, and the internal relationship between the VR-f curve or its variation law and the underground geological conditions, through the inversion and interpretation of the dispersion curve, the Rayleigh wave propagation velocity VR within different depths underground and the geological structure within a certain depth range can be obtained. Thus, an evaluation of the physical properties of the site or geotechnical materials can be made. It is widely applied to engineering geological exploration in fields such as railways, bridges, water conservancy, transportation, electric power, and urban construction, and can also be used in resource exploration in fields such as petroleum, coalfields, uranium mines, and groundwater.
